deck project: complete

i can hardly believe it, but this weekend B started and FINISHED our deck project (with mucho helpo from his dad and my dad today).
awhile ago i wrote a post about our landscaping project.  we finally set a date to knock out the deck project and we actually DID it.
being the loser i am, i forgot to snap "before" pics before B started tearing it up.  lucky for YOU i found some old photos from when we first moved in.
so those are the before pictures.  only, imagine the deck being 4 years worse.  the boards were breaking (one board DID break, leaving a giant hole in the middle) and sagging.  it was bad.  i also decided the railing was not necessary and i hated that it hindered our view when C was playing in the yard.
thank goodness for papa red's trailer that we were able to use for hauling the wood. C loved it too.
a lovely shot of butts in the air.  B ripped everything up by himself on sunday.  there were lots of nasty leaves and trash and junk underneath (oh and a rabbit skull.  nbd)
the guys had to do some support beam re-arranging (i don't know all the details) so that took most of the morning.
but once they got that done it went pretty quick.  i say this as someone who spent the day mostly observing and giving the guys constructive criticism with my mother.  also, we were inside.
and then, BOOM.  she was finished.  and it was wonderful.  my heart is so full.  i can't tell you how great it feels to have this new deck.  with non-saggy boards.  and no view-obstructing railing.
big thanks to these hard workers for putting our new deck on.  and here is the final shot with all our "stuff" back on:
now:  finish the bathroom! #itneverends
