miss rylee is already two months. in a lot of ways it has gone quickly. but some days seem excruciatingly long.
here's what has been going on with our chunky lady.
-she still nurses every 2 hours during the day. i've gotten fairly used to this "schedule" though it still makes getting out and doing anything difficult. this week i had the genius idea to hire a college girl i knew from our church youth group to watch her for an hour while i took caden to the grocery store. that made life so much easier.
-has not slept through the night and it seems we're far from it. she'll give us a 4-5 hour stretch at first, followed by about 3 hours. we've gotten used to this chopped up sleep and it's actually proven to be a blessing to me, as i stay up after her 4:00/5:00 a.m. feeding and do my bible study with a cup of coffee.
-she hates riding in the car. and not just when we stop at red lights. as soon as we pull out of the driveway, she starts screaming. until we reach our destination. it makes for lovely car rides.
-she also kind of hates being strapped to me in the carrier. if i can get her to fall asleep, we're golden. but if she's awake in there, forget about it. hence the hiring of the sitter for the grocery store trip.
-she has reflux, same as her brother had. only it seems to be worse with her. of course it is! she was on zantac for two weeks and while it seemed her symptoms had gotten slightly better, we were still dealing with a lot of them. her doctor (we recently switched pediatricians during the diagnosing of the reflux. sometimes you just gotta go with your mama gut, or maybe the Holy Spirit's promptings, and do what you think is best. we definitely felt switching doctors for both kiddos was the best move) suggested we switch medications to try and achieve the results we're looking for (decrease in fussiness, spitting up, and junk in her throat). so now she's on prevcacid. we're very hopeful this will take care of her discomfort and pain.
-still loves sleeping on her belly. we recently moved her from the cradle/bassinet into the pack n play (still next to our bed) to give her more space. she's a wiggler.
-has been rocking the tummy time. girl loves to hold her head up and check everything out. especially her brother.
-rolled over from belly to back for the first time on monday night during my ladies bible study. we all cheered for her :)
-is absolutely enthralled with watching what her big brother is doing.

-gives us a plethora of smiles (i think she gives her mama the most though. we have our own little language we speak to each other.)
-NO bottle and NO pacifier. i've mostly given up trying the pacifier but we're still trying for the bottle. we go in april on a trip for brent's work and we NEED her to take a bottle while we're away.
-she is SO CLOSE to finding her thumb. she sucks on her hand and once or twice we've caught her with it in her mouth.

-still requires bouncing on the exercise ball to calm down/fall asleep. we don't do "cry it out" because, well there isn't really anywhere for her to do this at. technically she cries it out in the car :)
she's in the 85th percentile all around.
we can't get enough of this sweet lady!
