Inspired

A couple weeks ago, I came across a blog about baby Jonah (thanks to my friend Kendahl)--see link on the right. I read it everyday to find out what's going on with Jonah and be inspired by his mother and father's strength and faith.
From that blog, I found MckMama (also linked on the right side). She is also extremely inspiring, even though I've only been able to breeze over her blog. I'm looking forward to reading more and being uplifted (call me selfish) in hopes of it rubbing off on me so that I can uplift others!
A little closer to home is my dear friend Shannon who continues to amaze me with her creativity (maybe it's just the home ec teacher in me!). Her love for the Lord, her husband and projects is very inspiring! So I am vowing to make this blog a little more exciting instead of once a week updating what has happened the previous week (can you say boring?!)

Here's to INSPIRATION!!

Spring Break '09

While we didn't get to see the beach on our week off, we did get to relax, see friends and family and sleep ALOT! Here's the recap:
Friday-Sunday (first weekend): literally did nothing but laze around and spend time together...it was fabulous!
Monday: I don't even remember haha
Tuesday: I went home while Brent had to stay in Charleston and work. Tuesday night I rode around the ghetto of Springfield with my brother who is a cop. It was a lot of fun...always something interesting going on!
Wednesday: Shopped for a graduation dress (stuck out), met my mom and Rachel for dinner and watched idol with Rach at her apt. then headed back to Charleston
Thursday: Again...did nothing! We did order Monicals which is always a treat =) Oh we did play BINGO with a lot of townies at the Moose Lodge here in Charleston...didn't win though
Friday: I didn't do much but Brent had to spend the whole day writing a paper...yes, on Spring Break...it was due on Saturday...that's just mean!!
Saturday: We went to Champaign, met some of Brent's family for lunch, I shopped again for a grad dress (struck out), then we went to Matt and Shannon's house for dinner and dessert. Our friends Janna and Derek also came and us girls had some great girl talk in the kitchen while the guys watched basketball. It was a great evening =)
Sunday: Church, dress shopping in mattoon (I found a dress at JCPenney's! Now I just need some shoes...). Brent went up to Champaign again for a guys night and I'm enjoying an evening all to myself!
That was our exciting spring break...and our last spring break in Charleston...yay!! We're still apartment searching in Springfield so if you think about it, pray that we can find something we love for a decent price! This coming weekend we're heading to my parents to celebrate my mom's birthday and look at some apartments. Unfortuantely we didn't have much to take pictures of this week, but here's one of us in the car at some point!

Also, I thought I'd throw this pic in because it's just so dang cute!! Hopefully some day Brent and I will get a little fluffball like this:

Rochester Rockets

So the news is in...I got my student teaching placement this morning!
I'm going to be at Rochester High School, just outside Springfield.
I'm super excited...it's a great school that has an awesome FCS program. So I'll be spending my summer preparing for a busy semester!
That's all for now =)

Shoe Fetish

You don't have to know me long to know that I LOVE SHOES. Flip flops, flats, sneakers, heels...doesn't matter, I love them all. I have a hard time wearing them all because I seem to keep accumulating more and more, but I still love all of the shoes that I own. I'm currently obsessed with these sweet babies:

or I would take these:

They're around $100-$120 which I don't feel is too terribly bad, considering when I was in high school my parents used to buy me doc martens and I have a pair of Burkenstocks which aren't cheap. So for the next holiday, I'll be asking for a pair =) (Or...if anyone would like to buy these for me just because, I'll take either pair!)

Blast From the Past

So this weekend was FABULOUS!! Friday we ate dinner at the delicious Thai restaurant Magic Kitchen and then played some Wii with my parents. Saturday we had the marriage seminar all day. It was a simulcast from Colorado...great people like Gary Thomas, Beth Moore and Gary Smalley (plus others) spoke about marriage. We took away ALOT of things that we can both be working on. We're so thankful we got the opportunity this early in our marriage to hear the awesome things God spoke through these people. After the seminar, we went to see my neices and nephew and eat pizza with them. Later that night i found some discs that had pictures on them from my first couple years of college...so much fun to look at! Here are a couple that I found
