hi. i'm amy. let's just jump right into some FAQ that actually no one has frequently asked me but i want to look cool and pretend my email gets BOMBARDED with these questions on the daily. humor me.
Where are you from?
great question! i'm from the great state of ILLINOIS!!! jk, i mean i really am from there but it's not so great. it's boring and cold in the winter and super humid in the summer. but it's home and i love it for what it is {whatever the h that means}
Why a blog?
well, it would be wise to pick up toys, do the dishes, get dinner ready, and hem my husband's pants that he asked me to do 2 weeks ago while my child naps. but, i'm not very wise so instead of doing all those productive things, i blog. it's entertainment for me and hopefully you too.
What did you graduate college with?
15 more pounds than i entered with. oh, you meant degree? let's see...i entered college in 2003 as a special ed major, changed to sociology, changed again to family and consumer science and then added a teacher certification by the time i left in 2009. so, i have a bachelor's of science (that's bs) in career and technical education with a teacher cert. i know, that makes no sense to me either as i type it.
When did it really hit you, "i'm a mom!"
probably around the second day when i realized no one was paying me to babysit this child and he wasn't going anywhere. also when i held him for the first time after pushing him out of my own body. and i'm sure it'll hit me when he finally decides to say "mommy" when he's like 15.
What's your family like?
awesome. they're like awesome. my mom is my best friend. my dad is my best friend and my siblings totally rock. i have twin brothers that have both been married over 10 years and both have 3 kids. do the math, that makes my parents grandparents x7. holy crap is right. but they love it. they're retired and mostly just live for their afternoon naps. they've taught me what a successful, christian marriage looks like and i respect them for that. we're totally disfunctional when we all get together and nobody else understands our humor but that's why it's so great.
How did you and your hubs meet?
ok i'll keep this brief. i was boy crazy. i mean, BOY.CRAZY. i was dating like 2 guys at the time and couldn't decide between the 2. then i saw B one night at a campus house event {the most wonderful church we attended at school} and thought, "hmm...no i really can't add a 3rd guy to my list right now..." so we hung out as friends for awhile in a group of mutual friends. after a little over a month, plus some cigar smoking together and a winter retreat, i ditched the other 2 losers and started dating B. i knew after a month he was the one. we dated 2 years and he asked me to be his one forever. i love him lots.
